PT: A Maratona do Funchal juntou-se à segunda edição do Ranking Mundial Wanda Age Group da AbbottWMM como um evento de qualificação
A segunda edição do ranking começa em 30 de setembro de 2019 e termina em 11 de outubro na Maratona de Chicago Bank of America de 2020 – coincidindo com a conclusão da Série XIII do Abbott World Marathon Majors. O Campeonato Mundial acontecerá em 2021 com o local a ser anunciado no próximo ano.
Os participantes de uma corrida para o Ranking Mundial AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group ganharão pontos de acordo com sua idade, tempo e sexo, alinhados com as seguintes faixas etárias para homens e mulheres: 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.

EN: Funchal Marathon has joined the second edition of the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Rankings as a qualifying event
The second edition of the rankings commences on September 30th 2019 and ends on October 11th at the 2020 Bank of America Chicago Marathon – coinciding with the conclusion of Series XIII of the Abbott World Marathon Majors. The World Championships will take place in 2021 with the venue to be announced next year.
Participants in an AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Ranking qualifying race will earn points according to their age, time and gender, aligned with the following age groups for men and women: 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.
A maximum of two races run in the qualifying period will go towards a runner’s overall ranking in their age group. At the end of the qualifying period, the top ranked runners in each age group will be invited to the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championships.

More than 125,000 runners aged 40+ participate in AbbottWMM races each year and this new system will allow even more runners to become a part of the AbbottWMM family. Our system gives runners a chance to run all over the world and all across the calendar on a truly global stage. We want to give them a chance to gain recognition like never before”.
The Abbott World Marathon Majors (AbbottWMM) is a series of six of the largest and most renowned marathons in the world – Tokyo Marathon, B.A.A. Boston Marathon, Virgin Money London Marathon, BMW BERLIN-MARATHON, Bank of America Chicago Marathon and TCS New York City Marathon.
